Centre Marc Bloch (CMB) is a German-French research center for the humanities and social sciences.

The CMB, a bi-national institution, is a place for interdisciplinary research and the training of young academics. There are five research focuses within which numerous academics work on specific projects.

Research Focuses:
  1. Europe and Democracy under pressure
  2. Dynamics of inequalities
  3. Circulations and socio-political spaces
  4. Environment, climate, energy 
  5. The arts of criticism
Tasks for Interns
Research support 
  • Research and documentation
  • Translations, transcriptions
  • Other activities in consultation with the supervising researcher
  • Participation in the research seminar as well as in the meetings of a focus selected in advance

Organization of scientific events (support of project coordination)
  • Logistical support (contact with caterers, provision of buffets, coffee breaks, etc.)
  • Participation in the organization of an event from A to Z (within the possibilities of the internship period). 

Assist the General Secretariat in the administration of the CMB
  • General administrative tasks
  • Text writing, editing, and translations
  • Database maintenance
  • Assistance in the preparation of the annual activity report (bibliography, lists, formatting, etc.)

Requirements
Students must know French and German - one of these languages fluently, the other at least passively understood.
Interested students are asked to name either a project they want to engage with or a researcher they intend to work with.
